What Guests Are Saying
Kachess campground offers a beautiful, scenic environment with spacious and private campsites, making it a popular choice for many visitors. Numerous reviews praise the cleanliness of the campground and the friendliness of the staff, along with access to hiking trails and the lake. However, some concerns were raised about sanitation issues in the vault toilets, low lake water levels, and a lack of enforcement of campfire bans, which detracted from the overall experience for some campers.

Such a great campground. All sites are a short walk to the lake. Some are pretty close to on the lake. It’s super flat. . Great for bike riding with kids. Each loop has its own personality.

This has always been one of our favorite campgrounds. We had a beautiful site, on the lake in Box Canyon. However, we were surprised at the condition of the loop/campsites. Debris everywhere and even a bunch of garbage down the path toward the beach. The worst part though was the state of the bathrooms. Filthy, water all over the ground and the flush toilets were not working about 80% of the time. There was a pit toilet near the day use area but no toilet paper for several days at either bathroom. Hand sanitizer dispensers were all empty. I'm not sure why the campground was in this state this year. It has been fine in years past.

for one thing the campsite was not clean, there was lumps of bacon fat, cigarette butts, little bits of garbage in the fire pit,we had to clean it out so not to attack the bears that they warned about, there was dog poop on the edge of the campsite and had to get something to fling it down the hill because it stunk so bad sitting at our picnic table, hadn't been racked like they used to do after previous camper left, they used to do that all the years of coming camping here at kachess, they outhouses smell horrible, dont know why they got rid of the flush toilets, also there is a website that says lake kachess has down by the beach flush toilets with showers and coin laundry and a small store over by the entrance, it was dated august 15th 2022 and it was the correct lake kachess, we were expecting that when we got there, how come they have a updated website telling all these new amenities and its not true, thank you

Really nice campground. We stayed during the off season so it was really quiet. Great lake to kayak.

The campground is beautiful, and the Box Canyon loop is well-treed with widely-spaced sites. The only issue we had was with the hosts in our loop. They kept their generator running from 7:30 am to 10 pm without pause. We were far enough away for it to only be slightly annoying, but it must have been highly aggravating for those camped right next door. Additionally, the bathroom was filthy. The doors and walls looked like they might not have been cleaned at all during this season.
