What Guests Are Saying
Kachess campground offers a beautiful, scenic environment with spacious and private campsites, making it a popular choice for many visitors. Numerous reviews praise the cleanliness of the campground and the friendliness of the staff, along with access to hiking trails and the lake. However, some concerns were raised about sanitation issues in the vault toilets, low lake water levels, and a lack of enforcement of campfire bans, which detracted from the overall experience for some campers.

Beautiful spot. Arrived after dark, was next to impossible to find the bathrooms. No signs, no trail markings. Finally found after a long expedition. The bathrooms were gross and not clean. Campground host for last section ran their generator constantly, highly annoying.

My site 65 was too close to 64. Lots of people talking, I could repeat this dudes whole life story. Bathrooms are maintained but the locks are not feasible for privacy. Well maintained grounds with host riding their bungies constantly. Lake is nearby and accessible with some cell service. Didn’t see any bears. Campfires disallowed due to fire alerts.

This campground was really wonderful! The campsites were large and felt like there was some privacy. Paved paths made it great for bikes or any wheels. We will be back for sure!

We stayed in site 168 in Box Canyon, Kachess, 9/5 -9/8/22. The site was beautiful, spacious and shaded. The lake was beyond spectacular.
What made our stay so horrible was the camp host located 200 yards ago. They ran 1-2 gas generators to power their bus for 12 PLUS hours per day, every day!!! The sound carried all over the campground, you couldn't escape the noise. That really took away from the whole nature experience. Maybe invest in some solar panels and have better rules for the camp hosts generators. We even kayak across the lake and still heard the noise. Ridiculous.
The rest rooms garbage never got emptied while we were there. But all of the campers were told to keep things clean because of a bear. How can we be assured of not running into this next season?!?

Camp site was clean and well maintained. Camp host/rule enforcement person was a little power crazy. Didn’t like the way I parked my truck. Early morning garbage truck sounded like it was in my camp. Other than that it’s a fabulous spot.

Had an excellent campsite right on the beach area, and the lake was beautiful.
Only giving 4/5 stars as some extremely inconsiderate people came into the community picnic area late at night, setup flood lights on the beach and proceeded to fire off pistol rounds and set off peoples car alarms from roughly 11pm-2am. I doubt that is a regular thing, and I don't blame the camp hosts for not wanting to confront a bunch of armed drunks in the middle of the night. However, potentially something to watch out for if you are near the community picnic area.
