What Guests Are Saying
Kachess campground offers a beautiful, scenic environment with spacious and private campsites, making it a popular choice for many visitors. Numerous reviews praise the cleanliness of the campground and the friendliness of the staff, along with access to hiking trails and the lake. However, some concerns were raised about sanitation issues in the vault toilets, low lake water levels, and a lack of enforcement of campfire bans, which detracted from the overall experience for some campers.

The skeeters were bad but I brought plenty of "OFF" +...
The hosts are swell, I was able to get my favorite FF campsite after reserving another favorite one just in case I couldn't get the FF one.
Everyone was having a swell time midweek and on the weekend. A note tho, the weekend is packed with everyone having fun @ both the boat launches, beach and day use areas.
Show up early or make a reservation so you will not be turned away.
AND have fun!

Booking was easy and at a great price. The grounds were very clean, including the bathrooms. My family has a great time- best views in Washington!

Amazing lake and pretty good campsites. Way too noisy on the weekends. Also a lot of generators. Probably normal for an easy to get to campground, but don’t expect a quiet experience.

I want to say I loved the campground. There were so many fun spaces to be, so many chipmunks, so many critters, but the squirrel ate all the food in our kitchen, well just some trail mix, but that's OK it was not my favorite. It was super fun I wish I could go camping again.

Campgrounds overall was clean and it was close to the lake (about 15 min walk) or 2 min drive. Downside to being bear a lake is a swarm of mosquitoes. No bug spray or gimmick worked. Additionally we had really noisy neighbors who proceeded to be loud until 3am each night. At one point I shouted quiet time is at 10pm to 6am. Noise travels further at night so it was hard to sleep. Just wished it was somehow enforced.

My site shared some sun and shade for the heat. Plenty of room for my trailer + truck. Nice fairly level parking. 18 hours of rain emptied 1/2 of sites, many leaving a day or so early for 4th holiday. Restrooms well maintaiined. Lake had some afternoon winds that slowed down us kayaking, but AM conditions were flat and calm. Beautiful mtn scenery surrounding campground and lake Kachess.
Wish lake trail bridge would be replaced.

Camp hosts were amazing, and staff was very supportive and informative. Beautiful location, bathrooms are showing their age and need some TLC. Campsites are in good shape but heavily used, keep in mind that this is dry camping with potable water nearby and there is no trailer dump station anywhere close so make sure you show up with empty tanks if you're going to be using your RVs facilities. We have a pretty long travel trailer, and this campground was tight to just navigate through the campsite areas due to tree limbs and some large rocks.

We felt this site is unfairly represented on the map. You are in a fish bowl next to the bathroom and sharing site (with a log separating) with camp host, and right across from the main entrance - cars coming and going. Long walk to lake , no view to speak of other than watching other campers go in and out of the bathrooms. Very small area to set up tent if you don’t have an rv.
