Hi Good People:
My wife and I stayed in Loop A, the Hot Rain Forest campground. It was one of the quietest campgrounds we ever experienced. (Also, according to staff, it has the best cell reception, at least for Verizon from my experience.) The two nature trails are in walking distance from our campsite. They were superb! The staff at the Visitor Center were very helpful with my questions on other campgrounds along US 101. The Rialto Beach and Hole in the Rock are a must see, about one hour or so from the campground. Just remember when coming back into the campground, the later the better as traffic does back up from 10 to 3 according to the National Park Service. Our two times coming back were short waits as they were after 3pm. We will be back!

My wife and I stayed in Loop A, the Hot Rain Forest campground. It was one of the quietest campgrounds we ever experienced. (Also, according to staff, it has the best cell reception, at least for Verizon from my experience.) The two nature trails are in walking distance from our campsite. They were superb! It was nice, the bad part was waiting an hour to get into the park to get to our reserved camping spot.

Great trails in a beautiful rain forest. However, the campground was just ok in comparison to other campgrounds in the Olympics. Showers would have been great to have and more water stations and bathrooms. There was only one bathroom and water station in the loop C campground. There was no soap or hand sanitizer in the bathroom. Prepare for mosquitos. No concessions so, bring food or pack your lunch and snacks if hiking around for day use. Rangers at the visitor center were really nice and informative. Great Junior Ranger Program.
