This site B43 was not suitable for our RV even though we fit the length requirements. What is missing from this picture is the tree on the left side of the pad as well as the 3 pegs that are on the opposite side of the road. Both of these obstacles severely limit your ability to back your trailer in. The park rangers were able to switch our site, which was really lucky especially after waiting 2 hours to get into the campground.

Didn't even make it due to the 2.5 plus hour queue the park service had in place! National park system is clearly broken.

The campground was so beautiful and of course the setting in the Hoh Rainforest is unique and wonderful. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the restrooms. Not only was there no soap available, but the garbage was not emptied once in a 48 hour period. Soap is required to clean hands. Also, the camp fire pit was full of ashes, 6 inches deep. In normal campgrounds these are cleaned out when full. Kalaloch, amazingly, had even dirtier bathrooms, and I know the parks are under a lot of pressure from overuse, but you shouldn't short-change the custodial services.

The Hoh Rain Forest contains an incredible number of tall, old Sitka Spruce trees. They are the biggest and most concentrated I've ever seen in any PNW forest! They and the large moss-draped 'big leaf maple' trees are the reasons to visit. Our Site, #8, was large, pretty, shaded, and private, but many sites are not very private and are wide open. We pulled a small teardrop trailer using a Ford 150 and had plenty of room for parking. The campground was very quiet, probably because most sites were occupied by couples in small campers, vans or tents. Most stay only 1-2 nights, which is plenty of time to check out the two short hikes or partially hike the long Hoh River trail. The bathrooms were clean and new with flush toilets and warm water to the hand washing sinks. There were outdoor sinks for washing dishes.

We had a wonderful experience at HohRiver campground. The campground was quiet and peaceful. Our campsite was nice with enough room for a tent and small trailer. We enjoyed seeing the Roosevelt Elk grazing in the campground in the early morning. We thought the bulletin board gave good information concerning the wildlife and a heads up too. We attended the campfire talk and slideshow on mushrooms. It was very informative and interesting. The hikes were amazing with the waterfall hike just the right distance for a morning jaunt, the hall of mosses is wonderful for a slow meandering walk to take in the boundless beauty of the ecosystem. The Spruce walk was lovely with its serene gentle path that brings you to the shimmering Hoh River on its way through this amazing forest. We stayed 5 days and could have stayed longer. Next time. Thank you for your hard work in the maintenance of this treasure.
