Hoh Rainforest Campground

Phenomenal campsite. The rainforest is stunning and staying within the park helps a ton with backed up traffic to enter the Hoh area in the summer. This site is very close to the host, nice bathrooms, and firewood. Highly recommended.

Camp ground (C loop) was lovely and site well maintained. Ranger at Visitor Center was especially helpful to consolidate my 2 "one" night stays @ two sites into a single site for both nights. Appreciated seeing the ranger on "evening rounds" as well as the camp hosts mid-day just to touch base and know others were attending to campground activity.

The sizes of the sites at Hoh Rain Forest Campground are NOT listed accurately. I booked Pull Thru Site 52 which was said to be 62 feet long. I'm in a 40 ft MH with 4 slides and towing a car. That should fit, right? NOPE. I got into the site alright... with barely an inch to spare on the passenger side and a branch from a tree pressing down on my awning and roof.

First of all, the curve of this pull thru site was way too sharp for a 40 foot motorhome (even without a car in tow). Secondly, because of the sharp angle of the site, there was no way to open my tip out windows, let alone put out a slide or two. As far as the length of the driveway, it was more than 62 ft long: closer to 68 feet. The online system does not give you the width of the sites and that's very important.

I ended up having to detach my car (did not plan to do that for the 2 night stay I booked) in order to let the air out of the RV and creep backwards to get the branch off the roof and awning attachment, then had to move back and forth a few times to get the entire passenger side away from the vegetation/trees.

The hosts were there and told me I should go to the visitor center and see if they had any "unadvertised sites" in Loop A that I could get into. Some of those sites are free of trees and I'd actually be able to put out all 4 slides there.

No, they couldn't move me. The female "ranger" I was speaking to told me to go to South Beach Campsite (about an hour away back south on 101) as that is a "first come, first served" site and they could probably get me in there. She wrote a note on the back of a reservation slip that I would be transferring my camping fees already paid for Hoh Rain Forest Campground, TO South Beach. After getting the MH out of site 52 (Loop B) and hooking up the car, I was off.

BIG RIGS GO TO SOUTH BEACH. WAY BETTER. I spent 2 hrs walking in the surf. It was glorious! $20/day if you can find a spot. Everyone was very pleasant at both locations.

Very beautiful campground, good sites with privacy (at least at our spot). Very close to many nice trails.

Beautiful campground with great proximity to the hikes. Clean flush toilets.
