The campground allows easy walking access to the three main hikes in the area; Hall of Mosses, Spruce, and Hoh River Trail. The Hoh River trail is a (muddy) 17.5 mile down-and-back trail to Mount Olympus, but well worth hiking as far down as you can muster. Hall of Mosses and Spruce are short ~1mi hikes on well maintained (no mud) trails. Parking for these hikes is adjacent to the campground, which means that there can be a long line of cars waiting for hike parking. We didn't experience any trouble in early June, but we did see lines forming to get in as we headed out at 10am.
The tent camping areas were all level, and set up to handle consistent rain. Picnic tables, fire pits, and bathrooms (with running water) were all top notch. We had beautiful weather during our June stay , but it still rained a bit in the evening. If you're staying for multiple days - be ready for your gear to get wet.

Loved the beauty of the campground. It was easy to arrive late and set up camp. Nice space between sites. Truly a lovely place to camp and explore!

Quietest campground I have ever stayed in. I loved sitting by the river on the hike through the woods. It would have been nice if there were t-shirts for sale in the visitor center. I would have liked to have a campfire which was not allowed. It was very damp. Would have seemed safe to have a fire as was allowed at the camps in Oregon.
