What Guests Are Saying
The Hoh Rainforest Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting, with clean facilities and friendly staff. Campers enjoyed the spacious sites, easy access to hiking trails, and educational ranger programs, which enhanced their experience. However, many noted issues with the lack of running water in restrooms and long wait times to enter the park, which could detract from the overall experience.

It was clear that the NPD has been deprived of maintenance funds. The faucets in the women’s room at Loop A did not work, nor did the faucet at the dishwashing sink. Despite those inconveniences, the bathrooms were clean. The ranger talks were excellent even though the rangers had to tiptoe around the topic of climate change, as if it doesn’t exist.

Great campsite, beautiful forest and wildlife. Facilities are well maintained and a lot happening in the park. Biggest recommendation is to arrive before 10am or after 5pm. We arrived at noon and the line was almost 3 hours long, so we drove back and enjoyed the beaches along the coast and checked in after 5 with no line at all.

It’s a busy place, but I found out why. The quality of nature here is top shelf. The visitors center is fantastic and we really enjoy the evening ranger program as well.

Great campground. Super quiet at night. Spacious, wooded sites. Would readily camp here again!

Beautiful area with nice campgrounds (loop C is very nice). Jam-packed during summer months. As mentioned by others, arrive very early (probably no later than 9am) or late, after 3:30pm, unless you want to get stuck in line trying to enter the park because the visitor center parking is full. I would not recommend the park in the summer because the trails were so packed, at least not if you’re local. I’ll visit in the spring or fall or even winter next time. Nothing wrong with the park, it’s beautiful, just very popular.
Bathrooms were very clean, campgrounds were quiet. Some spaces are close to each other but not too bad. The downside for me was the massive crowds so, like Rainier, off season is best. There are lots of lodging options in Forks if it’s colder and rainy.

This is a beautiful campground and perfectly located for Hoh Rainforest hiking. It is well maintained with flush toilets (thank you to the worker I saw cleaning them daily!). I saw a fawn walk through camp one evening and a family of quail walked through my site on my last morning there. This campground is right along the Hoh River, so you get to fall asleep to the sounds of the water.
Of note, site 37 is large but not too private; your picnic table is in direct eyeline with site 20 to your left. Wasn't a huge problem for me, but something to keep in mind if you are looking for a spot more private. In that case I would attempt to get a riverside spot. But would be a good option if you have a larger party and want to reserve two adjacent sites.
I would definitely return!

This campground was magical! I loved being on the river. When we arrived there were deer hanging out right next to our site in the riverbed and we heard elk bugles all night the first night! The bathroom cleanliness could have improved a touch at this campground compared to other grounds I've camped. But I got engaged by the river under a rainbow so no complaints here!!

I have rarely seen such a clean bathroom at a campground - and it was spacious. I liked the design of this campground as well. We slept in our vehicle and noticed that the space for a tent is on the smaller side, right next to the picnic table and looked like pretty uneven ground. We were in 61C. Vegetation was gorgeous and lush.

Campground and trails have limited to no service so be sure to write down site # if overnight because they do not write down your name on reserved camping sites. Hiking billboards are very poor in National Park areas and very disappointing. Identify before hand and bring your printouts. Satellite hiking apps like Gaia did not work for either of us in Hoh the day we chose. We both had no cell service (from Att and Verizon) and dense forest made satellite apps not work either.
