GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

Great campground! One piece of feedback would be no hand soap in bathrooms so bring your own. We did thankfully!

Mora is one of the greenest places I have ever been. It is still and quiet (except for the many birds!), full of moss-covered, large trees and mushroom covered ground. Its often foggy or raining, and to me has an ancient feel. I love coming out to Mora to just sit and read, or to ride bikes out to Rialto and walk down the beach.

Great campground, standard gov layout style. Bathroom could definitely use a more regular cleaning but it is a campground so happy to have any sort of bathroom

I always love being at Mora. I've been coming there for more than 35 years...a terrific environment/vibe to let go of stressful aspects of Seattle. I just wish that it wasn't so complicated to get a reservation there. And I wish that it was still possible to pay the fees with cash.

Showers would be nice. Recreation.gov works well and seems fair for allocating campsites. We backpacked to Chilean Memorial and hiked south as well. WA Coast is awesome and we will be back!

Mora campground sites are generally private, surrounded by beautiful Douglas firs , cedars and Sitka spruce. Facilities are very nice and it is close to amazing beaches, such as Rialto, Second and Third beaches.
