Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, easy hiking options, and the soothing sounds of the nearby Bumping River. My grandson and I like this campground for location and campsites by the river. There is a trail from the campsite which used to be a loop, it is no longer a loop, due to a storm a few years ago. You can hike to a little Scab Mountain, then backtrack, or continue to Flat Iron Lake, then return the same way. The camp hosts keep everything as clean as possible, friendly and communicative. This is the 3rd time I have camped here. More trails close by.
The negative is being told per Ranger Station, when I called, that the loop trail had been repaired..not so. I get some confusion but I recommend a map showing the 2 trails from the campground and stating the loop is unrepaired. There are 3 places where a map could easily be placed. (Instead of someone trying to etch in the wood by the trail sign at the end of the bridge backpack info area.)

The Rocky Mountain group that have taken over were Excellent! We had water for all of the days of camping which was 5!!! There also was toilet paper this camping trip also! (I have had to bring Toilet paper before for the last few days we were there).
The Hosts Christine and Niki were awesome! Solved all of the problems we had which were few! Very personable, restrooms were clean all the time! Nice to camp there now!
