About Hunters Group Site

Hunters Group Site sits along the northern shoreline of Lake Roosevelt. The facility is popular among groups of hunters and fishermen, but is also comfortable for families and other groups of up to 25 people. Although there is no view of the lake directly from the campground, a boat launch and beach are located within the facility. Lake Roosevelt is a 130-mile lake on the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. Named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt, it is part of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area managed by the National Park Service.

What Guests Are Saying

Hunters Group Site A offers excellent access to water and ample space for activities, making it a great choice for multi-family camping. While the site experiences high foot traffic and some noise from nearby campers, it provides a beautiful setting with fun opportunities for kids. Improvements like gravel around the fire pit area could enhance the experience, but overall, visitors found it enjoyable despite a few challenges.

Busy site, everyone thinks it's just part of the park, public beach area or something. Lots of traffic, cars just think it is there for a turn-around. This site has steep cliffs and drops off down to the rocky water edge below, you have to be very careful and keep a close eye on children.
During this stay, they were very loud, partying next to us and a couple was fighting most of the night in the other adjoining spots, making it very hard to get any sleep. If you can't have a tiny fire in the fire pit it is very cold at night, also.

Love the whole Hunters area. Site A is nice. However, people walk through your site all day long. Spoke with some staff that said there used to be a cable up and people would cut it and they don't bother putting it up anymore. When you ask people to go around they look at you like you're the problem and you're impeding on their rights or something. Due to the layout and proximity to the courtesy dock and beachfront it's easy to see why people walk through there there. Still annoying though. When your kids and your dogs are there, you always got to be on the lookout more than any other site.

Beautiful site! Some gravel around the fire pit area would be helpful as the clay becomes a mess when it gets wet.

I booked Hunter's Group Site A for a multi-family campout. As the organizer I was a little worried the site would be disappointing, but no worries necessary! This site has excellent assess to the water, a lot of room for tents and chairs and games, and was used as a path to the water by other campers while we were there (mid-June) .

The beach sand was coarse but dig able. I'd recommend water shoes/sandals due to rocks. The kids enjoyed making sculptures in the clay by the water. The water was cold but levels were high.
