What Guests Are Saying

East Sullivan Campground is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts. Many visitors appreciate the spacious and private campsites, as well as the well-maintained restrooms and excellent swimming lake. However, some concerns were raised about overcrowding, road conditions, and occasional issues with dog owners on the beach, indicating room for improvement in management and communication.

Although I did not see it listed the East Sullivan Campground does have potable water stations scattered around the site. The campground host was seen every day doing her job unlike some. My hat is off to her. It would be nice if someone would fix the lake trail along Sullivan Lake and not just put up a sign closed. Instead we and the grand kids hiked the Hall mountain trail 2 miles up to where the bridge is washed out. I thought by now this would be fixed since we were last there two years ago, again disappointed. The campgrounds are really nice, we would book the same site again. We got there the day after Memorial Day, the place was basically empty. The grandkids got to see a chopper from Farirchild land and take off along with a single engine aircraft, that made their day. What is there not to like about the Sullivan Lake area. Also we have not been to near by Mill Pond since they removed the dam. The now dry lake bottom area is recovering slowly. They still have a few camp sites there and two large bridges cross the creek and provide access to several hiking trails. Again great area. Also there is an RV dump site at the north end of Ione. It is under new ownership. He does stock some RV parts in the event you have an issue.

We camp at Sullivan lake every year for 2 weeks and this year the campground was a disaster. There were down trees everywhere, brush piles taller than our camper, the dumpsters were overflowing with garbage for our entire 2 week reservation and the bathrooms were filled to almost the rim of some of the toilets, super gross and smelly. Overall, I am very disappointed on how the campground is being cared for this summer.
