What Guests Are Saying
Kalaloch Campground offers a stunning location close to the beach, with beautiful scenery and a pleasant atmosphere. Many reviewers praised the clean facilities and the helpful lodge staff, who provided exceptional assistance during their stay. However, some noted issues with noise from Highway 101, limited bathroom facilities, and difficulties in securing preferred campsites, suggesting that while the campground is beautiful, improvements in maintenance and accessibility are needed. Overall, visitors enjoyed their experience and expressed a desire to return.

Campsites are a little small and close together. But the beach makes up for anything lacking.

One of the best sites I’ve been to. Site A19 had a lot of privacy as well as a view of the ocean. The restroom was near by, and it was clean. It’s my third time in this campground. The only negative thing ( from my point of view) was that ocean facing sites with little to no wall of bushes and/or trees to block the cold wind can be a bit overwhelming.

The campsite was fairly good size and it was covered enough when it rained. The walk to the beach was quick and also to the bathrooms. Beautiful and special place.

Clean bathrooms, quiet and respectful guests, and the perfect place to wake up next to the ocean.

Had a great stay and the site was great for me but the tent pad barely had enough room for my 1p backpacking tent and certainly wouldn’t fit your standard car camping tents. Definitely more aimed at the RV crowd.

We had a lovely time at this camp ground. Our spot was nice and clean and the factor adequate. Loop A bathroom was out of order but it was fixed pretty quickly. Location not too far from Hoh Rainforest Trailhead, Ruby Beach or Forks, WA.

The campground itself is beautiful. We had a "low privacy" site but really it didn't seem that bad for the first 2 nights we were there. There are so many cool trees that swallow the campground that it really helps immerse you. The beach was extremely accessible and you could easily walk down it to get up to the Kalaloch Lodge if you didn't want to go by road (you will have to get your feet wet, just so you know). Not the best campsite for wanting to explore other parts of Olympic National Park as you have to drive around an hour to get ANYWHERE from your campsite (even the nearest town).
On one of our last nights we walked several miles down the beach to where there were rocks. I want to say the furthest we made it was a bit past Beach 3. It was so unbelievably fun to climb on the rocks while the tide was slowly coming in and we even saw a bald eagle who had caught a SEA OTTER and was eating it. An unbelievable experience, truly.
The only downside to our stay was that on our final day we were woken up by other camp visitors walking THROUGH our campsite. Like, right between our tent and our campfire- not even trying to avoid it. They did this multiple times with their entire family despite me verbally yelling at them to please not. They even dropped trash on our campsite (unintentionally, most likely). I was so frustrated with them that I went to the booth to talk to a ranger and that was the one day there were no booth hours. I got back to my campsite and tried to call the help line or just SOMEONE to come handle it because it made me extremely angry that they wouldn't listen and thought out campsite was just a path for them instead of going around like we did. Of course, as soon as I dialed the number, they hopped in their RV and left.

beautiful spot, clean up after yourself and watch the tides, the tree of life is still hanging on and is worth the visit.

The beach was quiet and peaceful. The camp sight was perfect. We had a view of the sunsets. Magnificent!
