What Guests Are Saying
Kalaloch Campground offers a stunning location close to the beach, with beautiful scenery and a pleasant atmosphere. Many reviewers praised the clean facilities and the helpful lodge staff, who provided exceptional assistance during their stay. However, some noted issues with noise from Highway 101, limited bathroom facilities, and difficulties in securing preferred campsites, suggesting that while the campground is beautiful, improvements in maintenance and accessibility are needed. Overall, visitors enjoyed their experience and expressed a desire to return.

I really like my camping spot with ocean view. The negative are the bathrooms. They need to be updated!

Site E012 was great. A large site and for our family good to have the bathhouse near with some lighting. Wouldn’t be the ideal site for solitude seekers.

We stayed at Kalaloch Campground for one night, and it rained throughout our entire stay. However, the weather had nothing to do with our overall experience or the quality of the campground. I would rate our stay as excellent.
We stayed at campsite **A014**, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. The site overlooks the Pacific Ocean, making it one of the most beautiful campsites we’ve ever stayed at. If you’re looking for an ocean view, I highly recommend this site.
One thing to keep in mind is that there is only enough space for one vehicle (a car or a truck) and a tent. I don’t think a larger RV would fit comfortably.
The site included a fire pit and a picnic table, and enjoying the ocean view from the campsite was unforgettable. There are a few other oceanfront campsites as well, although some appear to be permanently closed because of coastal erosion.
Another highlight of our stay was the evening ranger program. The ranger was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the presentation both informative and enjoyable. It was a wonderful experience and definitely worth attending.
Despite the rainy weather, our stay was truly unforgettable. The scenery, the peaceful atmosphere, and the ranger program made this a priceless experience that we’ll always remember. We would absolutely stay here again.

We love Kalaloch and have been here many times. It is the rain forest so we did cut our trip short after 3 nights as the weather forcast was for 3 solid days of rain and we were in a tent. We had 3 nights and 4 mostly good days if a little misty. We had a great view and enjoyed the beach, forest and the espresso stand in the store.

The site that I was at, was amazing, close to the restrooms (that had no shower or soap) but what I enjoyed is walking through to the other side and being able to see the ocean. I brought my camping chair with me and watched the sunset and the walk down to the beach is quick and easy. You can easily walk a long distance. The night I went was overcast so the sunset was not the best, but it was beautiful to be there. The sounds of the ocean and I enjoyed the fact that the site had trees to hang a hammock (if I chose to do so) but did not at this site. The parking space had ample space and was easy to back into.

Good size, can accomodate up to 16x16ft tent. Water does pool up next to the picnic table and the tent pad on heavy rain. Good separation to nearby campsites. Highway noises from US101, and not much waves noise. No cellular coverage but 2 mi down at beach 2 had pretty strong signal.

Unless your campsite is on the ocean plan for a dark camp.
