About Kalaloch

Kalaloch Campground is on the reservation system May 15, 2026 - September 20, 2026. Important changes to the reservation booking windows: To better serve visitors, Kalaloch Campground will be releasing campsites in a series of three staggered block releases by loop. These block releases will be 6 months in advance, two weeks in advance, and 4 days in advance. A and B loop campsites will be available for reservation 6 months in advance.C and D loop campsites will be available for reservations two weeks in advance.E and F loop campsites will be available for reservations 4 days in advance. Please be aware that A, D, and E Loops have experienced substantial erosion damage to the road and campsites along the ocean bluff. For this reason, there are a number of ocean bluff campsites permanently closed.During the rest of the year, the campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis. During winter (November - April), some campground loops are closed, but camping is still available. Kalaloch Campground is located on the southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula in Olympic National Park, on a high bluff adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. Although campsites are not directly on the beach, several of them overlook the water and there is beach access within the facility. The campground is large and set amidst a peaceful, coastal forest that thrives on the region's high annual rainfall. Rain or shine, it is one of the most visited areas of the park.

What Guests Are Saying

Kalaloch Campground offers a stunning location close to the beach, with beautiful scenery and a pleasant atmosphere. Many reviewers praised the clean facilities and the helpful lodge staff, who provided exceptional assistance during their stay. However, some noted issues with noise from Highway 101, limited bathroom facilities, and difficulties in securing preferred campsites, suggesting that while the campground is beautiful, improvements in maintenance and accessibility are needed. Overall, visitors enjoyed their experience and expressed a desire to return.

Visited mid-June, Monday through Wednesday. Campground was relatively busy but not full. While the camp sites are small, it didn't feel like we were on top of our neighbors and it wasn't too loud. There is some road noise, but you can also hear the ocean waves. The campground bathrooms have flush toilets and running water, but no soap, so bring your own. The bathrooms were relatively clean, but sandy. There's also water spigots for washing dishes and dumpsters for trash/recycling. The Kalaloch beach is very nice, clean, and not too busy. The campground is close to many other beaches and the Hoh Rain Forest. If you don't want to eat at the Kalaloch Lodge, food is 40 minutes away in Forks or Quinault. Very limited cell reception, but the area is well marked and easy to navigate by road signs.

I have a north face wawona 6 person tent and it fit well. Large site with plenty of area and woods for kids to mess around in. The next sites tent area does come close to the one at this site but in our case it was a non issue. The bathrooms are a short walk down the road and where not busy at all even with a full camp ground. The highway noise was not bad at night but some of the campers fly down the road past the site so watch your kids and pets. The speed bumps didn’t do much. I would gladly stay in this spot again.

The beach and forest are lovely. The only downside to the campground was that my spot was near the road and the logging trucks were so loud! I would get a site closer to the beach next time.

bathrooms consistently had little or no soap, but other than that they were clean. park ranger was helpful and kind when helping us find out campsite. our campsite was clean and in a nice private spot, and the campers around us were quiet and respectful as well. i've stayed here twice and enjoyed it greatly both times, and will probably come back again
