What Guests Are Saying

Cougar Flat offers large, well-spaced campsites and a quiet atmosphere, making it a great spot for a peaceful getaway. The bathrooms are consistently clean, and the campsite tenant is friendly and helpful. However, some sites lack privacy, and there are concerns about litter and proximity to the road, which may detract from the experience.

Campsites are way too close together. Not enough privacy. Bathrooms were very clean. Campsite tenant was very nice and informative.

One of our best trips at a campground. It was nice and quiet. We were the only ones on the campground for a few days. Bathrooms were well maintained and clean.

All the sites are LARGE and well spaced.
11 could see the road very clearly which we personally don’t like but it isn’t that busy and is completely silent at night.
No river access from our site.
Little bit of a yellow jacket problem but a protein bait set away from us kept them entertained.
Road is great for bikes, not so much for scooters.
Found LOTS of trash and went on litter walks as the campground is taken care of a host at the campground down the road.
Quick glance it looks clean but there’s a lot missed.
Right by the pit toilet which when the wind blew our way we could smell.

Site 12 has no privacy to site 11 as there’s not enough brush/ trees.

The water pump is fun and a workout :D

We liked the campground and would return, just maybe not this site or 12 to escape seeing the cars pass.
Neighbors saw elk! We weren’t so lucky.

This is actually a pretty nice, although basic, campground. Yes, the Bumping Lake campground is pretty desirable due to the proximity to Bumping Lake, but it's not too far of a drive and this campground is smaller and much less crowded. Plus, it does not fill as quickly. There are some nice hikes nearby, too. I definitely recommend this campground.
