What Guests Are Saying
Cougar Flat offers large, well-spaced campsites and a quiet atmosphere, making it a great spot for a peaceful getaway. The bathrooms are consistently clean, and the campsite tenant is friendly and helpful. However, some sites lack privacy, and there are concerns about litter and proximity to the road, which may detract from the experience.

Great place for camping but no on site support what so ever. We had someone take one of our reserved spots all weekend long and no one would answer a phone to do anything about it.

Visited this site (2) 6/30-7/2 with a group of 3 people who each had their own tent. The space was HUGE, and could easily fit another 3 tents. It was surrounded by trees and logs to separate the other campsites on the right and left of us. The very friendly campsite host gave us a parking pass and information about going to the lake nearby. She also told us we can grab any branches and logs for the fire which was very useful for our situation - we ran out of firewood on the last night. The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is the number of bugs that were at the site during sunset, sunrise, and at night. They seemed to calm down in the afternoon. Also, the bathroom is just an outhouse and it's totally a personal preference. Other than that, this place is absolutely beautiful and away from any big city for 1+ hours. Highly recommend bringing a ton of bug spray though!

Good stay. Quiet campground & clean restroom; no liter in campground. Lots of recreational opportunities in the area: trails, multiple campgrounds & boat launch/marina. Very friendly host. High visibility in campground & on trails - multiple trips thru the campground each day.

This is actually a pretty nice, although basic, campground. Yes, the Bumping Lake campground is pretty desirable due to the proximity to Bumping Lake, but it's not too far of a drive and this campground is smaller and much less crowded. Plus, it does not fill as quickly. There are some nice hikes nearby, too. I definitely recommend this campground.
