What Guests Are Saying
The South Fork Group Site is praised for its beautiful setting and suitability for groups, with a locking gate enhancing safety and privacy. However, the access road is rough, and a 4-wheel drive is recommended. Reviewers noted a lack of maintenance for the vault toilets and suggested bringing cleaning supplies, as well as the need for more oversight from forest service personnel.

You will always have people walking thru your campground it seems. The road was worse this year than last year. We did see the rangers checking out the bathrooms. The restrooms were clean. We only caught 25 mice this week. Creek was not too deep for the grandkids.

There are lots of free camp sites adjacent to this rented group site. Although the space is reserved and private, many outside people enter the camp by foot to use toilets. Service doesnt come very often to clean and so do no restock, so outsiders use all of your TP causing some verbal altercations with inconsiderate outsiders. The mice are insane. There was mouse feces all over our tables ever morning. We had mice in our trailer that got into our cabinets and food. The previous users had left trash everywhere. Sad. i dont think there is any oversite or cleanup between groups. I picked up over 75 beer bottle caps and general trash.

I love this site. I have camped here many times with a large group. The vault toilets are kept clean. My one complaint this time is whoever camped here last left A LOT of garbage. TONS of beer bottle caps!! I picked up handful after handful when I first arrived and kept picking them up throughout the 6 days we were there as well as others in my group. Also water bottle caps, fast food wrappers, bunch of egg shells, other miscellaneous trash.

We have camped here several times, it is a beautiful site, wonderful for groups. The locking gate, is a great feature for both safety and privacy. Be aware, the road going in is in bad shape, 4 wheel drive makes pulling up the hill out of the campground easier. If you plan on using the vault toilets, you may want to remember cleaning supplies, Lysol, and toilet paper.

Be careful the road in is still very rough. Some of our group didn't want to risk holes and rocks.
We reserved campgrounds for 3 different weeks this year and never saw any forest service personal (3 weeks no rangers) the amount we pay for the group sites at least cover TP would be nice! For those of you who didn't bring your own paper or a broom you are welcome.
Oh, and I got the combination but there was no lock on the gate, not very secure, making us have to kick people out that tried to invade our group.

The outhouse smells terrible. They need to add more chemicals or have it pumped out more often.
