What Guests Are Saying
Fishhook Park is a well-maintained, beautiful location with friendly hosts and clean facilities, making it a great spot for family outings and camping. Visitors appreciate the ample water access, quiet atmosphere, and the convenience of a nearby gas station. Some concerns include limited swimming access due to algae blooms and occasional discomfort from biting flies, but overall, guests express a desire to return.

Well maintained older park, the site was large and not crowding the neighboring sites. Our stay was peaceful and quiet, exactly what we were looking for.

The park is beautiful, but the goat heads are out of control. We all had stickers in our shoes, but the worse part it was painful for our puppy.

I’ve been camping at Fishhook Park since 2002, and it remains, cumulatively, my most visited park since that time. However, the quality of camping has so declined over the last 10-years that it has progressively become my least popular destination of choice. The primary reason is that the Park is not being properly maintained. The grounds maintenance crews have allowed the quality of the grounds to significantly deteriorate. Automatic sprinkling systems when broken or maladjusted are ignored. Trees that have become diseased or dangerous have been removed without any concerted effort to plant replacements. I counted 30-stumps on my last trip to the park and not a single replacement could be found. Facility maintenance has also been ignored. For instance, an extremely noisy bathroom exhaust fan with a bad bearing has still not been attended to two years after it started to malfunction.
Furthermore, the rules of the park are not enforced. A group at the park was utilizing an annoyingly loud PA system for entertainment contrary to the rules of the park. The managing organization simply refused to enforce their own rules, which, unfortunately, occurs all too often.
