Fishhook Park is praised for its beautiful location, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great getaway for families and campers. Visitors appreciate the ample shade, spacious lots, and opportunities for birdwatching and water activities. However, some concerns include dry grass in certain areas and occasional noise from passing trains, along with inconsistent maintenance of tent sites and restrooms.

Some sites are shaded , some are not , so on a hot day better to use the park ground near the water front. Beach is not sand covered so feels like muddy, however once inside the water it's good, beach covered with decked walk ways, so safe for kids to float around as there is no chance of floating away further in to deep areas

Considering this park was closed last year, they did a pretty good job fixing it up. Hoping with irrigation the soft grass will come back. Saw a couple rattlesnakes, but we were there the first weekend it opened. Staff took appropriate precautions and removed them quickly. Staff was friendly and did a great job! We really enjoyed camping here.

The campground is situated among the fruit tree fields along the Snake River. Very friendly camp host. The campground itself is kind of hilly, but our parking area was mostly level. Park Gate is locked nightly from 10 pm - 6 am; The Campground Attendant will open the gate for emergencies.
We were in site 29 which is a Back-In marked for a 44' trailer. The asphalt pad was barely 8-1/2' wide, no tow vehicle parking alongside the trailer. Also, with a 32' trailer, and having our levelers in front of the cement curb, the site wasn't long enough for us to park our 22' truck in front of the trailer without being in the road, so had to come in on a diagonal. After you get off the pad, the site slopes either up or downhill, so not much level area for the picnic table or our chairs. The really strange thing is the placement of the fire pit, it was right at the back of the parking pad, so if you've a larger trailer and have to park all the way to the back, it would be too close to your rig to have a fire.
From our site, there is train tracks to the rear where trains did go through several times during the day but didn't notice any noise at night. There was a nice view of the river and even saw a barge go past and several aircraft dipping the river for water to help with a few local fires. Leaving the campground, just before the railroad tracks, there is an Osprey nest on a power pole that had a chick.
We would stay at this campground again if passing though, but in a different site.

Host Joseph was great. Camp was clean. Rv spot 13 had a great view and plenty of room to park my 10’ lance truck camper and boat. Showers and bathrooms were stocked and clean. Will be going back soon.

First time camping. Fishhook was closed last season due to budget cuts so the park grounds were over grown a bit but personnel were working on getting back to some form of maintenance . Our site 23 was Great, close to the water & had a big tree for shade. Would return for camping.
