Walupt Lake Campground offers a beautiful and serene setting with clean, well-maintained facilities and friendly hosts. Campers appreciate the quiet atmosphere, ample shade, and gorgeous lake for activities like swimming and hiking. Other than a couple families not picking up after themselves along the beaches it was an excellent place for camping with a little one. My 3 year-old caught his first Rainbow Trout. The restrooms were cleaner than expected. It would have been nice if the water was working, but they did a good job of letting us know ahead of time. We went the backway on the way in (Ashford), and the google maps (Packwood) way on the way out. The backway was a lot smoother which was nice since we were pulling a boat.

The campground was very quiet for such a large number of campsites. FS road 21 is a washboard nightmare. I recommend taking FS 23 out of Randle instead. A bit longer, but faster overall.
