Everything was fine. But the camp host was a stick in the mud. Had the personality of a
head of cabbage. Lived in a cargo trailer!
Got the job done, but not much of a “host”.
However, he and his (friendlier) wife were preparing to leave the day I was. Possibly burn out?

Of course the setting is beautiful and perfect, however my reservation was not posted for my campsite…and someone else was in my spot when I arrived.

The campground needs a major clean up from the winter storms. Extremely sad to see all the down trees, log jams along the rivers.
Picnic tables destroyed. There is so much moss, twigs, pinecones in the campsites that I am fearful a fire could easily take off.

Thankful the outhouses had been pumped. Cooper Lake is wonderful to kayak on.

It's becoming more difficult to camp here with an RV. Even a smaller one will have difficulty navigating some of the roads within the campground, unless you are OK with tree branches scratching the sides of your trailer as you drive through. I doesn't seem that there is any sort of regular pruning / maintenance that occurs.

Nice campground. Spots are spaced out. Close to river and trails.

We loved the water activities in the area. However, our site was directly across from a vault toilet that had horrible ventilation so our site smelled like sewage the majority of our stay. It was so bad, we contemplated leaving. Next time, I'd ensure to not be anywhere near a toilet there. The water activities are compelling enough to consider returning.

One of our favorite campgrounds! We love the river access and walkability to either the creek or river from your campsite. Camp host was awesome - super friendly and accommodating to us when we needed to shift from our reserved single site to the group site that was not booked. We had an awesome time with friends and enjoyed the river. Bathrooms were clean, neighbors were friendly. We can't wait to come back next year!
