Not much to do at the cabin, but a good base location for exploring destinations around Olympic.

We explored a little bit around Louella. We biked on Paulo Alto road which was beautiful, but we mainly used the cabin as a home base for day trips to Crescent Lake and Dungeness Bay rec area. Our stay there was very cozy and peaceful.

Our stay at the Louella cabin was wonderful! We spent some much-needed time off the grid and went on amazing hikes in the natl park. The cabin was a very good size, and the furnace was warm. Port a Potty was also very clean. Cooking was a breeze as there were some pots and pans available to use, as well as a glass oven dish.
Tip: The fresh duck eggs down the road are huge and delicious, so bring some cash!

I stayed here mainly as a last stop from camping at Bogachiel SP. A place with electricity and a bed was most welcome. I was impressed by how lovely it was to wake up and see the sunrise and trees through the window. I also enjoyed the fact that while the cabin was out in the country, it was a short drive to the shops and Costco in Sequim.

Heat wave made it uncomfortable. Had a hard time finding cabin due to no cell reception so make a map when route is available. Arrived at cabin after hour for call to get entry code and no cell reception at cabin I should have read email more thoroughly. Would have been nice if entry code had been in email instead of requiring a call. Had to sleep on porch, but was probably too hot in cabin anyway.

Second time at Louella Cabin and had a great time again! It’s a beautiful and quiet spot with amazing surroundings to enjoy and explore. Cabin is clean and cozy, including the honey bucket bathroom located near the fire pit. Bring lots of water and you can grab big bundles of firewood for $5/bundle at a little hut just down the road on your way to the cabin. Many pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and a cutting board included at the cabin make it a comfortable stay!

What a great cabin! Quiet, out of the way, and has just enough amenities to make for a comfortable night amongst the trees. Check out the buckhorn wilderness nearby

What a great little cabin! While it could use a good deep cleaning it was comfortable and everything worked as expected. The road was quiet except for an occasional dirt biker but low dust levels. The lawn needed a mow and there were skeeters but that's not a surprise.
Easy to access and parking for a couple cars if needed. Bonus: It appeared the outhouse was cleaned weekly.
Access to Sequim Bay State Park was close as were many trails like Upper Dungeoness and Royal Basin, Tubal Cain Mine, Slab Camp & Gray Wolf as well as the old Ned Hill Fire Lookout remnants. While not my favorite cabin in the network you can't beat the location or price.

The historic cabin makes you feel like you are living long ago…in the woods.
The heater kept us plenty warm. The use of the outhouse and our own water hauled kept us in tune with simplicity. The annoyance of a midnight outhouse run was tempered by the dazzling light show from above.
