What Guests Are Saying
The City of Soap Lake Smokiam Campground has both positive features and areas for improvement. It boasts a nice park with great views of the lake and a sundial, along with a recently added basketball court. However, the park would benefit from more funding to enhance facilities, including additional picnic tables, a better-maintained bike/walking path, and an upgraded playground for children.

This park has gone up and down over the years. They have added a basketball court a while back which was a surprise. But overall the city could definitely use more funding to make this park a little more enjoyable. They need more picnic tables including covered ones, the bike/walking path is pretty terrible in spots and needs fixed up. And especially the playground for the kids. It has been neglected for a while. They could add more swings and slides and various other things. The kids are what matter the most!

Nice park with a cool sundial and great views of the lake. There’s a visitor info center right next to it but it was closed when I stopped by, however the boards outside were great for info about local attractions.

Making our way to Dry Falls we passed this park and decided to stop. Interesting place. My daughter decided that she was going to walk out into the lake and effectively cover herself in wet sand. She had fun so it was worth it in the end.
I am confused as to what happened here. Maybe it is cause it was the off season? There are what looked to be large chunks of broke up concrete all along the shore. It ruined the whole "natural" effect. I guess they did allow for me to walk out to the water instead of having to get my feet covered in muck.

Laundry, shower/ bathroom that was close to our tent was closed due to maintenance the first day we were here. Staff is friendly and offered to make up for it. We ended up getting a discount for the aqua cycle, which was a fun and unique experience. Bathrooms and grounds are pretty clean. The views are great, pretty secured and safe for kids to run around. We will definitely come back here and rent a tipi next time! Overall, we had a good time and would recommend.

Neat park! Love the statue overlooking Soap Lake! We stopped so our 2yr old son could stretch his legs out. Plenty of room to roam and plenty of picnic tables to bring the family down for a bar b q. Kids toy were fun and safe. Huge parking lot to turn your vehicle around safely. If you have the time, we recommend stopping and taking a few pics with the awesome statue.
