***Responding to owner's response - I most definitely did not stay until 8pm, so I’m not sure who you think I am, but you have the wrong person. Someone from your staff did ask my family, well after I’d already left, if they knew who owned a “brown Tahoe.” None of them knew, since it isn't any of ours. It sounds like you’re trying to charge that person and have mixed us up with them instead. Since you clearly don’t know who you’re actually speaking to, you probably shouldn't be making accusations.***
Our stay here was disappointing. The lake was smelly and difficult to access. The glamping tent was dirty, the rug inside was filthy, and cobwebs were everywhere, like housekeeping never came through. The bathrooms were consistently dirty throughout our stay.
But the worst part came at checkout. We had already cleared out of our site well before checkout time, and simply stayed a few extra hours in the overflow parking area to visit with family who were staying another night. Staff clearly saw us there the entire time and not one worker or manager said a word about it. Instead, we were charged a $177 “late checkout” fee (plus tax) after the fact, essentially billed for an entire extra night with zero warning.
To make things worse, the front desk staff (Olivia) was rude, and the manager wasn’t any better when we tried to address it.
Between the poor upkeep and the way this billing issue was handled, I can’t recommend this place. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Unfortunately the staff at this campground are extremely rude and don’t hold all campers to the same rules. We could not swim in the pool because it was over run by little kids with parents who were not watching them. They were diving in when there were clear signs that prohibited it. At one point these kids put a chair in the pool. The staff did nothing to enforce their pool rules. The lake is gross. It stinks and there are bugs everywhere. It was a hot weekend and no one was in the lake, so that kind of says it all. Also, my family members were treated horribly by a staff member named Olivia and the manger of the park. My family stayed to visit with us a little longer after they checked out and were charged for an extra night. They tried to say that they needed to leave the premises as soon as they checked out but did not bother to say anything just charged their credit card on file for an extra night. They were out of their site completely and on time and had parked in the extra parking. The staff had plenty of opportunity to say something but just charged them…did NOT say one word to them when they were still in the park. They tried to argue that a hotel would charge you for another nights stay if you came back into their lobby after check out. Overall, it was a horrible experience and I urge people to stay away from this place.
Also, when they respond to you, they lie! The response that was given to my family on their review gave an inaccurate description of what happened. They clearly have no clue of who they even charged incorrectly. They bold face lied in their response! And do not want to admit they are wrong. Horrible people running this place.

Our group originally had reservations at Sun Lakes Resort, but a wildfire forced a level three evacuation the day we were set to arrive. While searching for alternatives, we stumbled across Smokiam RV Resort in Soap Lake and honestly, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

When we called, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They found multiple adjacent sites for our group, plus room for our tents, and even offered us a discount given the circumstances. That kind of customer care set the tone for the whole trip.

The grounds were immaculate. We consistently saw staff mowing, raking through the rocks, and picking up litter throughout the park. The owners were always present and genuinely friendly, and every single employee we encountered was warm and welcoming. You can tell this place is well-loved and well-run.

As for amenities, they have a little store and café with everything you need, and the town of Soap Lake and Ephrata are just a short drive away. The swimming pool was a great size and a real highlight for our group. The playground, the open space to spread out and play, and the mini golf were all a hit. (The teepees looked like a blast too.)

Soap Lake itself is fascinating. The water is naturally rich in minerals and has a long history of claimed healing properties. Some in our group took their kayaks out and loved it. Clear water, a peaceful experience, and genuinely unique.

The only drawback worth mentioning: the bathrooms. Beautiful in size and design, but there is essentially zero ventilation. The one near the office, which shares a wall with the dry sauna, was nearly unbearable. The other bathrooms were better, but still lacked any kind of air circulation. Nothing fancy needed... just standard exhaust fans would make a world of difference.

That one issue aside, we had a wonderful time and would absolutely return. Whether as a backup plan or a first choice, Smokiam has earned a spot on our rotation.

This place is a racetrack for every electric dirt bike, hover, bicycle’s, mostly driven by children that don’t understand rules of the road. It is not safe to walk around the park as they head right toward you. I had to jump off the side of the road in order to not get hit more than once. It’s a daily occurrence. At 11:30 pm, coming back from the Dam show, an adult raced right in front of our vehicle. Almost ran over him. No reinforcement from management. Used to be regulars before the new company took over. Never coming back and won’t recommend. The staff is very nice. It’s the owners that are questionable.

We stayed at the RV Park in Soap Lake and were very pleased!
The place is quiet, cozy, and has a wonderful atmosphere. The lake water is unusual, the town is small and peaceful — perfect for a relaxing getaway. The grounds are clean and well-maintained, with everything you need.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist. You can really feel the care and home-like atmosphere.
The rest was exactly what we wanted — no rush, no noise. We will definitely come back here more than once!
