Jubilee Lake Campground (OR)

Jubilee is a place I like to go at least once every year. Quick walk to the lake. Restrooms ran out of TP the first day and were not replenished in the three days I was there. I had my own so was grateful.
The gravel road to the lake is very very rough and I kept my speed at 10 mph so my van contents would stay in place.

Beautiful spot with large campsites. I don't recommend campsite 1, 3, 4 or 5 unless you want to listen to the camp hosts generator 18 hours a day.

Except for the seven miles of dirt, with a lot of washboard rough areas, the campground was excellent.

We always love to go to Jubilee Lake! It is such a beautiful place and so much to do! There is kayaking, non-motorized boating, fishing, swimming, exploring, hiking and simply lounging in a camp chair around a fire!

This campground has quite a few reservation based sites and quite a few first come first serve sites. Weekends tend to be quite busy but anytime during the weekday is usually pretty decent.

There are no sites with hookups at Jubilee lake so it is dry camping only for those with RVs and camp trailers. There is fresh potable water at various places around the campsites as well as restrooms but no showers. Make sure to read the description of the campsites as thoroughly as possible. Some of the pull through sites are very tiny and I did manage to see a couple who got themselves stuck in a pull through site as their trailer was too long for that particular site.

If you are worried about cell phone service, it is hit and miss at places around the lake but for the most part at the campsites it is non-existent at least for Verizon. This is a blessing for me and for some a curse hahaha. If you truly need cell service there are a handful of places right on the water where you can get service at least temporarily. You can also drive back on the gravel road headed towards tollgate and get reception a few places there as well.

The camp hosts were also very nice and you can get firewood if needed from them. Of course it costs a little money but sometimes that beats searching around the woods for scraps.

There is also a little store about 10 to 15 miles away in tollgate that you can get odds and ends you may have forgotten as well as fuel... Oh and they have ice cream and coffee (soon to be a small restaurant as well)!

Anyway I highly recommend Jubilee Lake and it pains me to give such a glowing review as I hope it never becomes as busy as Wallowa lake but I'd also hate your your family to miss out on this phenomenal place!
