Jubilee Lake Campground (OR)

Its a great place to go to get away but its not going to be for much longer due to the lack of law enforcement. There were people causing problems and no law enforcement. This is going to have to be addressed very soon or it will be a place I do not want to bring my family to again

Loud music, RC cars racing around the pathways, screaming kids at 6 AM, overflowing trash in every waste bin , truck traffic at all hours of the night , dogs wandering around off leash .
Lesson learned….

The washboard affect on the road to the campground was horrific. We passed a SUV that had broken the lug bolts holding his wheel onto the rig and he had to be towed home. Our site was clean and the campground was quiet for the most part. The restrooms were well maintained. Check the fire restrictions before you leave home. There were no campfires during our stay so I had to run back home to drop off the wood we brought and pick up the gas grill. The RV's ran generators, but the sites are muffled by the dense woods in the campground. Fishing was pretty bad while the wind was blowing . The next day we caught our limit in about 4 hours. We were robbed while we were away from our site. The culprits turned out to be a groundhog, a chipmunk and two squirrels who had no shame about helping themselves to half a loaf of bread we'd left by the table. They returned to the scene of the crime many times to see if we had learned our lesson about forest law. There was a deer that came through but she looked diseased from eating too much human food, like they do at Wallowa Lake. We go mainly for the fishing and only camp there once or twice a year.

The 12 mile long road to jubilee was treacherous! Road needs fixed.

It would be nice if the campground or whomever is in charge of posting the sites could include whether or not the site is flat or at an incline. The site that I reserved (#28) was a pull through and on the site it looked flat. To our surprise it was not. Its on an incline and trying to level out our trailer was not fun.

Garbage's were all full.

If you plan on kayaking or paddle boarding you need a life jacket. We've stayed here in the past and never used one before. Not to mention, since we were told that we couldn't paddle board or kayak by the officer that was there, we decided to hike around the lake instead. Once again, to our surprise, we saw many kayakers and paddle boarders without life jackets on! Our friends stayed here the weekend after us and they stated that they didn't use one while kayaking and they didn't get told anything. It made us feel singled out.

All of our past camping trips for the last 20 years here have been great. This one was the worst. To the campsite itself, not being able to experience the lake due to this (life jacket rule) as I would put it since no other officer ever stopped us for this in the past and not to mention the horrible road to get here. We will not be coming back to camp here.

It was a great time and friendly environment, being checked on by the state park guys immediately after getting there and knowing someone was there allday was a relief. I wish they could put in at least a couple showers especially for babies to be washed.
