Jubilee Lake Campground (OR)

We have been camping here for the last 20 years. This year the first night several campsites had very loud music playing, which is the reason we leave town to come up to Jubilee and listen to the wind in the trees. We asked them to please turn it down, and the rest of our week-long stay was wonderful; plump and bountiful (4 gallons) of huckleberry picking just a couple miles up the road, colorful wildflower fields at the top of the mountain, and a sunset view of the Columbia River 90 miles in the distance and Mt. Rainier in Washington, all at the top of the hill and within driving distance from camp. Outstanding star show in the sky each night, and a refreshing 2.8 mile walk around the lake topped our many favorite adventures. We enjoyed cooling off in the lake each day, floating around in our life jackets. We brought our drift boat and caught so many fish! We prefer catch and release, but when a fish would swallow the hook, and end up not making it, the resident eagle or osprey were happy to swoop down and pick it up for their meal. A wonderful place to camp and recharge from our busy lives. Our favorite place to be.

Love the lake and campground. The camp hosts were very friendly and were very attentive with issues from stocking bathrooms to handling noise issues. Unfortunately, on their days off, we dealt with loud groups on and off the water after hours, loud idling diesel engines, and just poor camping etiquette like playing music too loud. Upon our arrival, there were still hot coals in the fire pit. We love the easy access to water and restrooms. Despite the negatives, we love this lake and will definitely be back.

It was 30 years ago+ for our last visit. Weather was beautiful, some changes to the camping area. The addition of numerous bathrooms was nice, the one way roads were great. The road into the area were not so Great & that has not changed since last visit many years ago.
Overall really enjoyed our camping time.

Campground #1 was exactly what I was looking for during a brief escape from the city. It’s a great tent-only campsite surrounded by trees that provides plenty of quiet and privacy. It’s also convenient to get to and from since it’s located right at the beginning of the loop so you don’t need drive all way through the one-way road every time as you do with other sites.
