What Guests Are Saying
Big Pines Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting along the Yakima River, with spacious sites and excellent access for river activities and nearby hiking. Guests appreciate the clean restrooms and the serene environment, ideal for birdwatching and fishing. However, some visitors noted issues with train noise, site reservation mix-ups, and a lack of privacy due to close campsite proximity.

We always like this campsite for when we go rafting on the Yakima River.
Its right by the bridge, which is a great place to hike.

Campground was very clean and stayed clean all day every day as the site people came through several times. The river was fun to float down. Went to the Ellensburg rodeo and fair. It was fantastic! Initially, I was hesitant because of snakes but I never saw a single one thank goodness! Will definitely stay again!

I have stayed there numerous times, but this is the first time I made a reservation. The campsites are nice but some of them are nearly impossible to back into because of curbs that were apparently placed to separate pedestrians from vehicle traffic. It is obvious that the person that made this design has NEVER had to swing wide when backing a trailer! Some of them have been cut back but they are still a major nuisance.
On a positive note, the campground hosts are very nice people!
