Sunset Falls Campground

Beautiful location with supreme swimming access. Our site was a little closer to the main road than I realized when booking and large trucks seemed used the day use area to turn around creating a lot of noise, but otherwise it was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely come back!

The campground is a very beautiful location. Go for a hike see the different water falls.
It is quite at night. The stars are bright with minimal light pollution.
There are vault toilets and thats it bring your own water or get from the river and filter it.
I will definitely camp here again.

We had an amazing time at Sunset Falls campground. This was our second time camping here and we loved it enough to bring our friends with us this time. We were warned by some friends we know that a lot of nomadic type folk or homeless folk come here which didnt deture us from coming. Our first trip we did see some people we suspected were homeless but they didnt bother nobody. Our second trip we did have one run in with a man who was obviously not in his right mind. He became aggravated at one of our lights a little after the sunset and began to be agressive with our group. It didnt amount to anything but we let the camp host know and he let us know he was well aware of the situation and monitoring it. He told us that a lot of folk will come up there to try and get clean. That little event is the only reason I didnt rate it 5 stars. I wouldnt let it stop me from coming again but it is something to keep in mind when planning. We had a large group and stayed at sites #6 and #7. At site #6 there is a trail that takes you to a swim hole that other campers wouldnt have access to unless they hiked down the creek bed. The trail down to the swim hole has a red rope attached for good reason as it can be difficult to get back up. Our trip was phenomenal and we really enjoyed the falls. This campground really feels like a hidden jewel. Fishing is not permitted at the campground but if you ask the camp host they can direct you to the nearest spot around moulton falls (although I heard it was difficult to get to). The vault toilets by the main parking area are kept very clean and tidy. It was by far the most pleasant pit toilet experience ive ever had and I saw that the reason why is because they are cleaned twice a day. The second toilet house, that is closer to the sites we were staying at, was a different story. Despite being cleaned the same amount, it is just a much older building. We saved that one for emergencies only.

Beautiful location! The falls, pools and ledges make a great place for kids. Lots of families. The site was well maintained. Campground hosts were available and helpful.

Beautiful place

Site 9 was very nice, clean, and had direct river access by a short trail. It was relaxing to fall asleep to the sound of the river at night. The pit toilets were the cleanest I have ever experienced and always had toilet paper. Do note, you need to pack in your own drinkable water, there are no water spigots.

Our camp host was wonderful. The bathrooms were impressively taken care of.

The walk-in sites were fantastic. Very clean, tidy, spacious, and beautiful. I would recommend bringing a little wagon with you to transit your gear, especially if you are in 14, 15, or 16. The host was friendly and helpful, the toilets were sparkling clean, and everything seemed well-tended to and tidy. Remember to bring plenty of water for cooking, cleaning, and drinking, and definitely come ready to swim in the beautiful water that is just a 5 minute hike away. I am in love with this campsite!
