A beautiful well maintained campground, sites were large and well spaced. but the the blacktop parking pads were narrow and did not have a patio. Each site had 50 amp service and a fire ring. There is a camp store that is convenient for those little things and fire wood. We especially liked the hiking trails and varied landscape. Nearby to was Jennings Randolph Lake that would be great for boating and fishing. An unusual geological rock formation "Waffle Rock" is located at the damn site. Note that for a restful get away we certainly recommend visiting this COE campground. Note for those requiring to be connected, Verizon signal was very weak, usable for phone calls and texting only. No WIFI is offered.

If you are a partier and like to stay up past 4 AM, this is the campground for you. Quiet hours are not observed, and the hosts say NOTHING to loud campers, even if they are directly across from them. We tent-camped at spot 33. I wouldn’t recommend this spot, as it’s directly across from the bathrooms and no one seems to have any respect for others at this campground and have loud conversations with others even at 1 AM while walking to the bathroom. It’s also evident there is a sewage issue of some sort based on the unpleasant wafts that reached our site. We packed up and left at 4 AM, because the campers several streets over were so loud the entire night. As we left, we discovered a camp host was literally at the site across from theirs. There were mostly RVs and trailers at this campground. I wouldn’t recommend this spot for anyone, much less for tent campers.

Loved it! Very relaxing. Bathrooms and showers clean and camp hosts extremely friendly. A plus to be able to bring our dog. Definitely will be coming back!

Racist and unwelcoming. Park staff and guests kept staring at us and giving us dirty looks. Felt very unwelcome. They were suspicious of our motives attending a public memorial.
Other than that, bathrooms were clean. Would like more warning about pets not being allowed in certain areas.
Left early because of how we were being treated.

The campground was quiet, spacious and clean. Folks were friendly. Make sure you verify the route going in. We followed Google maps which took us over the mountain from McCool. Very difficult with a rig. The lake was perfect for paddling; we did not try to fish. The one issue that peeved us was when we were packing up to leave and running a little late. At 12:02 (checkout was at 12:00), a camp host came over and asked us if we knew we had to leave that day. Clearly we were dismantling the site. It was a little rude. Next time we will know that there is no leeway on time.
