Great camp ground! Petey (the campground caretaker) was accommodating and helpful. The camp ground sites were nice (we did tent camping) and the facilities well maintained. We would definitely come back! There are trains that pass through the area at evening and nights do bring some ear plugs or a white noise machine!

LOVED THIS!! This was my first ever camping experience and omg the bar is set high going forward!!! We were on a riverfront tent site and it was clean upon arrival! We were spaced out nicely and the groundskeeper, Peetey was so kind and helpful!!! Extra plus, they have campground kitties that love to say hello and are amazing watchcats!

Great trail to town.
from r v park.
Town is not bike friendly.
To get to the famous bike trail, you have to carry your bikes down 3 flights of stairs.
No fun carring a 65 lb electric bike. Age group over 70.
Most cites in usa are bike friendly. Get with it West Virginia!!

This is a wonderful place to camp. The waterfront is really beautiful! The Campground Caretaker/Host was personable and helpful, most excellent at his job! The sites are on the higher end of costs as you will see if you look. The bike trail from the campground to harpers ferry is passible but quite overgrown. the 2 down trees you have to cross have obviously been there for a long time and the brush needs to be cut back! The sites are packed in tight but most campgrounds do that! I would not tent camp here unless you can sleep through freight trains going by 40 yards away all night long. with the air conditioner turned up in my camper it pretty much drowns anything out. It is flat water at the campground but it is also the muddy side of the river so wading out is muddy. The fishing looked great and I will be coming with gear next time!

While the riverfront views were beautiful, this campground was not worth the steep price. Trains ran loudly just 50 yards away all night long, and constant car horns from the nearby one-way tunnel added to the disruption. Check-in was oddly located two miles away, and due to the tunnel’s low height restriction (11 feet), we had to take a longer, inconvenient route to get in. The map provided was confusing, making it hard to find anything. The only bathrooms available were port-a-potties, and I couldn’t even locate any showers. The camp sites are on top of each other and rather small for larger RV’s. Overall, the experience was frustrating and far from what we expected for the price and added “up charges”.
