Beautiful smaller campground with nice trails, and a small lake tucked in the George Washington National Forest. Campground is family friendly. The camp sites are nicely spaced apart. I was tent camping so there was plenty of space at the site which included a fire ring and table. Bathrooms were clean. I met the camp hosts when I arrived who were very helpful being my 1st time there. Cell service is almost nonexistent but was able to find a good spot near a trail to get reception. I would have stayed another night but Mother Nature didn’t cooperate and brought more rain. It’s worth the drive to visit this area.

Another great 5 days at trout pond. So peaceful! The volunteers hosting were great! I was relaxing and recovering from surgery and they checked on me and offered assistance many times! All good!

Site was great and well kept, great experience despite some significant rainfall one night. Lake beach area great for kids! Camp host was helpful and active in the area and Mr. Runion helped us get a site despite accidentally booking the pavilion site. Very helpful folks able to get a refund back for the pavilion rental rather just a camp site. Great place to do day hikes in the area and convenient to get to from DC. Will camp here again.

Best hosts ever, Tom and Susan Robertson from Charleston SC. Great weather, they really need to have conservation police there more especially when they are stocking trout and every weekend.
