About Trout Pond Recreation Area

Trout Pond Recreation Area boasts two bodies of water, Rock Cliff Lake and Trout Pond. Relax on a sandy mountain beach or fish for stocked trout while relaxing along the cool waters of Rock Cliff Lake. Trout Pond, home to native Brook trout, is the only natural lake in West Virginia. A designated swimming area, easy lakeside trails, and a children's playground make this a perfect family destination.

GREAT family campground! nice sites with good layouts. Bathhouses (in need repairs and upgrades) with the usual and showers. Nic hiking trails, and a lake for swimming.

If you are looking for a quiet get away and want to unplug then this is the place for you. The campground was outstanding and the bathroom facilities were very nice and always clean.

Other campers were obnoxiously loud. Running up and down the road, yelling, singing, and running what sounded like a blender until 3am. We left a day early due to no sleep.

Bathrooms were clean, sites were spotless and many had been updated over the winter. New picnic tables and fire pits too! Best of all were the new camp hosts. They were very friendly and helpful.
