We had a great time camping and using the trails for hiking. The bathroom/shower that was closest to our campsite was out of order however there were 2 facilities that were available and kept clean during our stay. The camp host was friendly and helpful and checked on us as soon as we arrived. He offered to assist with any needs and offered additional information that was thoughtful.
We were there over the weekend and the beach area was very crowded. The people were using fishing spaces and the boat dock for swimming. There were several young men jumping off of the rocks where it was posted not to pass or jump. Unfortunately, there was no ranger there the entire time of our stay to enforce safety or enforce guidelines. The beach area had more of a feel of a beach that you would find on the coast with loud music, lots of food/beverages and definitely not the peaceful setting you would think would be in a national forest.
Overall we enjoyed our stay as long as we did not go to the beach space.

1

Incredible- the bath house and outdoor shower were closed and in tent camping the closest bathroom to our site was closed- tough to have to wait in the morning when you have to go you have to go and you don't want to be waiting in line for a stall. Never had experienced this before at Trout Pond- usually it is a great place to camp and then enjoy the sandy beach of the lake.

Nice park, site descriptions can be misleading as there are a lot of sloped sites which can be a problem for trailers and tents. Some sites have drop offs that could be a problem for young kids. Bathroom was kept clean daily. Overall we like this campground for quick weekend excursions since it’s close.
