Horseshoe Recreation Area is a beloved campground known for its peaceful atmosphere, friendly hosts, and well-maintained facilities. Campers appreciate the cleanliness and spaciousness of the sites, as well as the beautiful scenery and proximity to hiking trails. While some note the absence of a shower facility and a dump station, the overall experience remains highly positive, with many returning year after year.

Charming place deep in a valley with friendly host. Stayed there 4 nights in Sept. Sadly the place closes the season too early for good fall colors. Trails in the wood are steep narrow & slanted along deep ravines and lots of down trees, bring trekking poles for stability.

Nice remote area, but not too far away from towns. Clean and nicely open campground with some trees for shade.

The camp was beautiful and well maintained. Krissann and Ashley the camp host were the very best you could ask for. They handled situations that came up with professional courtesy towards the campers. Will be returning soon for another camping weekend with friends and family.

This is hands-down the best campground I've been to! The location, atmosphere, and overall setup made for a fantastic stay.
The only downside to keep in mind is that there is no dump station on-site, so you'll need to plan accordingly for waste disposal before headin' out. Other than that missing feature, everything else was top-notch, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great spot!

One of the most secluded and serene places I've ever been. The staff was welcoming and informational, a MUST if you're in WV!
