This campsite is lovely! The lake being so close by was very convenient and also in perfect distance to the Peak of spruce knob. The bathrooms were clean and simple. Plenty of them around as well! My only complaint would be how close the sites are together. Some of our neighboring sites were quite loud into the night. But other than that I would definitely go camp here again! Ps! The closest cell service is 30 minutes away! Definitely plan routes before going to nearby food and potential essential places!

Spruce Knob is one of the best campgrounds in the country. Tranquil, quiet, perfect temperatures, secluded, and lots to do.

Wild & wonderful West Virginia. Dark night skies & beautiful country. Clean campground with shady sites and plenty room between you and your neighbors. Super friendly camp host Rich keeps a clean & tidy campground.

Excellent location, great clean facilities. Other campers were loud all through the night, would have been nice to have quiet hours enforced, but I know that's difficult. Will definitely camp there again--it's a great campsite in a fantastic landscape.

Great campsite set in the woods, walking distance to a beautiful lake. Clean sites and restrooms. Mid week in August it was only one-third full and the sites are nicely spaced out so you have privacy. I would come again.

Camp host was very friendly and welcoming. A tree fell across the one way road around the campground that was quickly cleaned up. Everyone there was really nice and the scenery is heavenly!

It was not apparent to us when we picked Spruce Knob Lake Campground for a 1-night stay that it is at least 15 miles from the nearest paved roads to get there. We're accustomed to boondocking, but the steep, narrow, and windy National Forest gravel roads leading to/from this campground were difficult and a little scary for us pulling our 18-ft camper trailer. Nevertheless, our site was very private, and we enjoyed the quiet and beauty of the woods. We never made contact with the campground host/attendant to check in, but it didn't seem to matter.
