What Guests Are Saying
Lantern Resorts/Deforest offers a clean and friendly environment with helpful staff, making it a great choice for visiting nearby attractions. The campground features convenient full hookup sites and a pleasant atmosphere, although some areas appear dated and could use maintenance. While the pool and camp store have limited hours, the overall accessibility and proximity to amenities are positives noted by guests.

We camped here in a 43ft 5th wheel with 4 dogs. The park is clean, staff 8s amazing. The girls in the office are helpful and friendly. The campground is close to attractions. Has a good size laundry room pool in summer was nice. Highly recommend staying here our visit was great.

This is a no frills campground. Everything looks dated and not well kept. It is basically a do it yourself campground...half of sites are full time campers from what I gathered. Nothing exciting here at this campground.
Location is great for visiting popular attractions and proximity to fuel and restaurant is a plus.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Sites were clean and convenient. The location was easily accessible from I-90. There was a quiet atmosphere that made for a pleasant stay
The only negative for us was that the sites seemed closely grouped.

Nice pull-through full hookup sites. Limited office/store hours and the pool is fairly small. Good location right off the highway 15-20 minutes north of downtown Madison.

I took my kids camping there for a weekend. The pool was dirty, the grass needed to get cut and the weeds need to get sprayed. But it looked like there was homeless people camping in the entrance. But the problem I have is they let them use the pool. When i paid $180 for 2 nights. I don't think that's right. Just a lot of sketchy people walking around. And when you have little kids that makes it hard to relax and have fun and let them go have fun. The camp store is only open till 4. The workers were nice.
