I like Bear Lake a lot. Some sites have easy boat launch, swim beach is nice, lake is quiet, campground quite, sites spaced nicely.

really need to fix the steps down to the lake, we are not disabled but not young either. I asked the person cleaning toilets about a volunteer project next spring to fix them, she wasn't really receptive to that. We were just at franklin lake where they had a spring volunteer work crew. Most of the stairs in the southern half of the lake REALLY need repairs. How about sending an email out to people who have camped there and offering a free stay next spring to work on the stairs? That's how they had a work crew at franklin lake.

I appreciate the trees between the campsites and the large campsites. I wish the second water pump was fixed (just needs a handle). Overall it was a very nice experience.

The campground was very nice and quiet. A beautiful, spacious, wooded campsite right on the lake. We launched our kayak from there. There were some big loons on the lake. The swimming beach was great also. We really enjoyed our 3 days there. No phone service at all. The campground was easy to find. We were looking for the dumpsters and didn't see them until we pulled into the boat launch area, so maybe a little sign would have been nice. And I didn't have a map of the campground, so a map posted on the board would have been great too. A wonderful, relaxing camping experience!
