What Guests Are Saying

Chippewa Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained environment with friendly camp hosts and clean facilities. Many visitors appreciate the spacious, wooded campsites and the variety of activities available, including fishing and exploring nature. However, some guests expressed disappointment with the condition of the swimming beach and fishing pier, as well as the need for improved maintenance in certain areas. Overall, it remains a popular choice for campers, with many planning to return.

Nice wooded sites, bathrooms very limited with only one stall (men’s and women’s), no soap, pay showers. No WiFi for Verizon. Very quiet sites during the week. Dump station does not allow blank tank flush. Fishing dock not usable in late season- too much green and blue algae. Nice camp hosts, firewood available nearby.

We were in site P39. Site is rated for a 40+ foot camper. Only way you’re getting that big in is with a helicopter drop. I have a 30’ camper. Been backing up trailers for decades. It took me an hour to get the camper into the site. The road is only 2’ wider than my truck. Ditches and culverts on both sides of the road. Several people I talked to over the weekend expressed the same difficulty’s getting into their sites. The electrical box is way too forward. You need an extension cord to use electric. If you place the camper in a position where you don’t need an extension cord, there is about a 5” side to side pitch in the site. Parked at the rear of the site there is only a 2” side to side pitch. Sites are spacious and far apart, but this was not a quiet campground. Couldn’t have the camp host do anything because they were the biggest offender. They were entertaining their family, including several grandkids and multiple dogs (4). The dogs barked a lot! This time of year I wouldn’t go in the water. Major algae bloom was occurring and the water was flat out green! Bugs weren’t bad at all. I’ve been to a lot of National Forest campgrounds. I can’t recommend Chippewa campgrounds

This is a great park! The lake is peaceful and well suited for kayaking or canoeing. Sites are generous and private. Laid back atmosphere - as it should be.

It was fine! Hot showers that you HAD to pay for. Don’t forget to bring your soap to wash your hands!! The sites were awesome and if the lake had been higher it would have made for some excellent fishing. The biggest downside, there was cell service (crazy I know, but I go to the woods to get away from my day to day life!!

We had an issue with the 120V 30A service circuit breaker tripping. Terry reassigned me to another campsite which worked out fine.

Nice little campground. Two negatives - Showers cost $1 and the pads are gravel (not paved).

Very happy with my stay. Easy pull through site, still full of summer green. Had time to walk the loop and see other sites.

Very large sites, welcoming and helpful host, clean bathrooms. Bathrooms were ‘bring your own soap’, which was not known before arrival, so be aware. Otherwise, we had a quiet and comfortable time
