Cabin #1 was filthy and very moldy. My wife and I are still sick with symptoms of black mold exposure. The cabin would never pass a legitimate heath inspection. It's shocking that they are still in business. The "clean"towels left for us to use in this cabin smelled of vomit and mold.If you value your health, find somewhere else to stay.

This review is regarding Cabin #5 though it also extends to other cabins we entered during our stay.
-------------------

When we arrived at the room, it was filthy. The bathroom had admittedly not been cleaned; feces was on the floor as well as the inside and outside of the toilet, there was visible mold in the washing machine, sticky kitchen floors, all dirty dishes. Our cabin, in general, was in near total disrepair. Bad plumbing that needed to be fixed during our stay due to a pipe that burst and sprayed water all over the utility room, a vinyl recliner with exposed foam due to being so old and worn, the window AC was outfitted with a dirty bucket to hold collecting water that sat in the middle of the room, etc...

When I brought some of this up with the managers there, Clara initially seemed surprised but later confessed that they did in fact miss this entirely. They (husband and wife managers) thought the other did the cleaning. This was treated with more of an air of slapstick comedic relief than real remorse for effectively exposing my family (we have 4 kids aged 7 and under) to 5 months of some other guests filth (the prior guests we were informed had stayed nearly half a year, somehow). Then they offered to clean it (after we had already done so) but never did. They also volunteered to take some money off the bill but never did.

We should have left right then and there but decided to ride out the storm another day. This was mostly due to not wanting to cause confrontation during a family reunion stay and create unnecessary drama for others, several of whom were perfectly happy with their cabin and expereincing no issues.

During the next day, we visited other families cabins. Some were surprisingly in decent condition. Other were not. In one cabin, an entire wall was shimmed up with supporting a 2x8 plank due to what was likely a compromised roof structure. Porch awnings had exposed wood rot. At least 3 cabins we entered (we had a large family rent several units) appeared to be filled with black mold. The smell of mold was abundantly clear and choked you upon entering the room. My family of 6 left coughing and is still sick from exposure during our time there. My father and mother-in-law also reported the same symptoms. Several cabins would almost certainly fail a county health inspection.

The owners came off as very nice upon meeting them and probably are very kind people, in the end. I mean them no harm. Nonetheless, they proved to be unwise business people and completely unaware of health and building standards. When we addressed our concerns regarding the cabin, they denied our claims and ultimately did nothing.

Stayed at the Bullfrog Resort the last weekend in September. Beautiful scenery all around. The hosts were so welcoming. We really felt at home in this peaceful place. The cabin we stayed in worked well for our family, like a home away from home. Have a campfire in the backyard and enjoy the starry sky.

The owners are extremely kind and it was very clear that they were willing to help us if we have any issues. Saturday night they had a band in the chalet and there was enough room on the property for us to be separate if we wanted our space, but we felt very welcomed to join in on the fun. The cabins were clean and had everything we could have possibly needed. The chalet was wonderful at night and they showed us how to use the music and TVs if we wanted. They even had a Blackstone for us to use during our stay. The 4 separate cabins were great for a large family. Can't wait to visit again!
