Hoback Guard Station offers a rustic yet comfortable experience with amenities such as a full kitchen, hot shower, and indoor bathroom, making it enjoyable for visitors. However, some maintenance issues, like mice presence and cabin disrepair, have been reported, along with a need for additional cleaning supplies. Overall, guests appreciate the scenic location and the opportunity for outdoor activities, indicating they would return despite some concerns.
This was our first time elk hunting in the area. The guard station was in a good location and a great place to stay. This is a rustic cabin experience, just what we were looking for. Our stay was after Labor Day so the water was turned off. No problem, we planned ahead. It got cold but the heater in the cabin kept us warm, even too warm. I would recommend and stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hoback Guard Station. There were a number of activities and sites to visit within reasonable driving distance. We are going to try to reserve the cabin again this summer.

The cabin was clean and had a nice assortment of items already available. Easy access. secluded, except for a seasonal worker who was painting nearby. Great area to hike or bird watch.
