Absaroka Bay RV Park

Well we have now move to the KOA down the street which is large spaces and nicer people. The lady at the front was very rude when to that I didn't want to disconnect my truck from my trailer she said " just do as I tell you and disconnect the truck your staying for two days". I advised he again that I needed a space large enough to fit my vehicle. She said it will
Upon pulling up to the sit it would not fit my truck and barely fit my 25 foot trailer. When we in form here that we would not be staying there she said "well if you would have told me maybe I could have found you a spot and then advised no refund. I didn't even ask for one. To put it simple place is small and desk female is very rude. Stay at the KOA large spaces nicer place.

Absaroka Bay RV Park is exactly what it is named, an RV Park. And, it is good at what it is. Sites are pull through, except for a row of back in for smaller rigs, narrow, and long enough to park sideways in front of, or behind, the rig. All are full hookup with 30/50 amp service. Water pressure is good. Sewer connections are not screw in but there are stones at each site to secure the hose. WiFi connection was good. I was able to work with no problems. Verizon cell service was 2 bars. The main roads are blacktop. Sites are gravel and close to level. There is a strip of grass and a nice picnic table between sites. There are no fire rings. As mentioned, sites are very narrow. My sewer connection was in my neighbors space. There is a centrally located bath house that was very clean. A small dog area is local ear the dumpsters. The staff are very friendly. This is not a campground. It is a home base for exploration of Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area. We would definitely stay here again. We were in site G13 from 7/25-7/30 2023.

This has been an awesome place to stay for us! Dang near hospital clean facilities, laundry, and extra parking for vehicles if needed. The staff is welcoming and will answer any and every question you have to the best of their ability. Cody, WY boasts 2 entrances to Yellowstone both within under 80 miles. The east entrance is the most accessible and also happens to be almost completely free of road work and just stunning views. The RV park is literally within walking distance of town(1mile ish to the middle of the main drag). The Buffalo Bill Center is less than 2 miles away. The town also boasts a surprising array of food options as well. Blanca Tatanka, Trailhead, and Rosa and Ruben’s (as Texans we absolutely approve of this taco truck which is also next door to the park) and that’s just to name a few. I highly recommend this park. Convenience is so nice when traveling and this park, and location, provide that in spades. Well done Absaroka Bay!

Very friendly staff. Warm, welcoming and genuinely enjoy what they do.

We rented F8 for $55 a night hoping the sites were not quite as snuggled together as Google Earth showed. The satellite view wasn’t misleading, they are close.

Even though the sites are pull through, the road separating sites is equally tight as I watched two different campers pulling trailers learn as they worked at it to get in.

You’re reminded you’re in town by the infrequent sound of aircraft and the major road nearby. Not terrible, just there in the background.

Water pressure was roughly ~60 p.s.i., 50 amp AC service steady, sewer connection is non-threaded and the WiFi was strong. The site we had was reasonably level with firm underfoot.

All sites are pull-through but let me say it again, they are tight. A Class A pulling a toad would be well served to connect the toad in the street. Just not worth the risk of getting pinned in or worse….

Lastly, because everything is tight, there’s few trees, no fire pits, no cooking on park tables, no stakes, no mats on the patch of grass separating the sites, no pet fencing on the grass and toad parking is a bit squeezed.

Regardless, it’s still a very nice place operated by very nice people and I’d stay here again!

Watch out for the small boulders at each site. We were there late in the year. Hence, fewer sites filled and the boulders did not present a problem, But when the park is full they could be very hazardous! The internet was fine. the streets were paved and the sites were level.
