Gros Ventre Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained location with friendly staff, clean restrooms, and easy access to the nearby river and wildlife, making it ideal for campers. Many visitors appreciate the campground's peaceful atmosphere, spacious sites, and convenient check-in process. While some sites may have rocky terrain and the lack of showers is noted, the overall experience is positive, with many recommending it as a great base for exploring the Grand Tetons.

Large, Quiet, Beautiful campsite with trees all around. Great camp hosts!. Convenient RV dump, fresh potable water, and firewood for purchase. Short drive to main thoroughfare thru Yellowstone, to Moose, and our visit to Jenny lake.
Very very Happy Campers!

The hosts and personnel are very friendly and knowledgeable. The campground is always clean and well kept. Sites are checked after every camper leaves to make sure nothing is left behind and the sites are ready for the next visitors. We like this campground and go back each year.

i assume, due to staffing, the overgrown, unhealthy trees are still standing in the camping grounds. Two trees fell, one almost hitting a camper and landing about 25 ft from my tent. The trees are leaning, and some are unhealthy and should be removed for safety.
I would consider some parts of this campground unsafe until the trees are examined.

Gros Ventre CG is a large but amazingly quiet campground. It is out of the way on the East side of GTNP. But, access to all the Park features is really easy. And the viewshed is awesome.

Happy to see that there are now two usable dumping stations. However, there is still only one potable water filling valve? Why?
This fact creates needlessly long waiting lines. When they redid the dumping tanks, why didn’t anyone think of adding a second spigot or at least a double valve so two parties can fill their tanks?
Very short-sighted indeed.
The staff this year were very friendly and super helpful. Thank you!
