This campground could use some tlc and its very busy around there because of 2 trailheads that basically start right at the campground entrance. There are only a few sites that have lake views so choose carefully.

The campground was overall very nice. The campsites offered good picnic tables and were reasonably spaced apart. There are several hiking trails and several lakes to fish at. The outhouses were very well maintained with a good supply of toilet paper and hand sanitizer. While there were water pumps outside the outhouses, you really had to put a lot of muscle power to get water flowing. I was unable to do this at all. Having a better method would be helpful and give more accessibility to those who want/need water at the site. I would have appreciated an electrical hook up (even at an additional cost).

We were astounded by the beauty of the Brooklyn Lake campground as soon as we climbed out of the car. The pit toilets were the cleanest we have ever seen in all our years of pit toilet use (which tallies to many years). Cam and Walt, the camp hosts, came to greet us soon after we arrived and were absolutely lovely. Three young mule deer bucks wandered through the campground, which was very cool. We camped on 7/17 and there were still wildflowers all over the place. The accessibility of hiking from the campground is great--we only stayed one night and weren't able to take advantage of the proximity of the hikes, but from the signage they looked awesome!

Beautiful camp site, amenities were well located, great hikes nearby. And the camp hosts were great.

The campground is about 40 miles west of Laramie, Wyoming and 8 miles northwest of Centennial on State Highway 130. From Laramie, travel 37 miles west on 130 and turn onto Forest Road 317/Brooklyn Lake Road. Proceed northwest for 2 miles to the campground.
Brooklyn Lake Campground is accessed via State Highway 130, located approximately 40 miles west of Laramie, Wyoming.

General
- If the reservation holder doesn't show up on the first day of the reservation, the campsite is released at check-in time (2 pm) the next day.
- There are no electric, water, or sewer hookup services.
- Maximum length of stay is 14 days.
- Campfires at this site are only allowed in USFS approved metal fire rings.
- Campsites are limited to 8 people and 2 vehicles per site.
- Dogs must be on a leash.
- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations. Some visitors may need to acclimate at a lower elevation for at least one night prior to visiting this facility.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- You are responsible for reading the site descriptions and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
- Please print off your reservation and display it on your vehicle's dash. Reservation receipt will double as a voucher for day use sites in the Medicine Bow National Forest for the reserved days.
