Water pump in working order, nice creek nearby, bathrooms were out of toilet paper Monday morning but refilled in the afternoon, spot was fairly level. Some spots are really narrow (46). Can get 2 bar Verizon service in pockets nearby. Minimal shade. Not super windy relatively speaking for the area!

What starts as a pleasant drive up the mountain turns into views that rival even the most popular attraction across the country. I would recommend budgeting extra time to pull off and enjoy the incredible views on the way to the camp site.
The camp site itself was perfect. Maintained gravel roads, clear signage, plenty of vault toilets, and level ground to set up my tent. I’ve camped from Yosemite to deep appalachia and this campsite is up there with the best i’ve seen. 10/5

We are very happy to see that you are now allowing reservations at this campground. More reservation sites would be even better. Some work to level out and enlarge some of the sites would help also.

This used to be our go to camping area. We liked when it was quiet and we could find spots for our small trailer. Those times are gone unfortunately.
Even with some reserve spots it’s still difficult for us to get there due to people from Colorado taking all the spots first. Our last visit, we reserved a spot and arrived around 9pm to find a Colorado plated RV in our spot. They refused to move. There were no rangers or hosts at that time to enforce the rules.
The next day a host was available along with several Forrest service employees, they talked to the Greenies; and they still refused to move.
If you’re going to offer reserved spots, then you need to enforce the rules when someone pays to reserve it.

General
- Operating or parking a motor vehicle or trailer except in places developed or designated for this purpose is not permitted and could result in a citation.
- Parking spare vehicles or trailers at a nearby site is not permitted and could result in a citation.
- Live music and amplified sound systems are not allowed
- If the reservation holder doesn't show up on the first day of the reservation, the campsite is released at check-in time (2 pm) the next day.
- There are no electric, water, or sewer hookup services.
- Maximum length of stay is 14 days.
- Campfires at this site are only allowed in USFS approved metal fire rings.
- Campsites are limited to 8 people and 2 vehicles per site.
- Dogs must be on leash.
- Quiet hours are; no amplified music.
- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations. Some visitors may need to acclimate at a lower elevation for at least one night prior to visiting this facility.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Please print off your reservation and display it on your vehicles dash. Reservation receipt will double as a voucher for day use sites in the Medicine Bow National Forest for the reserved days.
