About Signal Mountain Campground

The Signal Mountain Campground is centrally located inside Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) and provides a convenient basecamp for accessing all the park has to offer. This 80-site campground is located adjacent to Signal Mountain Lodge which provides many amenities you might need for your National Park adventures. The campground sits on the southeast shore of Jackson Lake, and offers easy access to the lake waters and short walks to unparalleled views of the Teton Range. The area is frequented by various park wildlife, large and small, as well as a variety of bird species. The Signal Mountain Campground is normally one of the first campgrounds to open and last to close in the park, and can often have lingering snowpack during the opening weeks after heavy winters and possible early wintery weather at the end of the season. Due to the variability of weather in the Tetons, visitors should come prepared, especially during the months of May and October.

Good location and nice site. The showers were the best we used on our week long trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton, although you had to put in tokens to keep the shower going and when it got low the alarm sounded like a smoke detector. The bathroom was downhill, down a small path from our site and really difficult to navigate in the dark.

Sites were very muddy. Attendants were not readily available. Poor experience, babbled and moved to Gros Ventre.

Beautiful forested campsite with walking trails all around. Ranger program about the animals that live in Teton was great and informative. We learned about the bears receiving food rewards from visitors and how that can lead to their deaths if they become too bold around humans, and how one was recently put down. So, don't feed the animals or leave food out, as they are opportunistic. Bear boxes are provided at every campsite. Really large site with fire pit. We really enjoyed our stay!
