We got to within 20 miles of the campground and found out it was (and had been for some time) closed due to an ongoing wildfire. A little heads up would have been nice. A refund would be appropriate.

Not a level spot anywhere. Not a great group site. Tables were destroyed and dangerous.

Great place. Highly recommend that you bring a canoe to enjoy getting out on the lake. Mosquitoes were not a problem in early August. The campground was fine. Clean bathroom facilities. My kids (ages 10 - 17) loved it. Lots of families were there. The fishing was poor until late evening. The dirt road getting there is washboardy but worth the drive. Any vehicle can get to the campground. The loading dock for boats is steep and gravel/dirt road. I recommend a 4-wheel drive if you intend to use the boat dock, to avoid getting stuck. We saw a truck get stuck when we were there.

Five stars for beautiful scenery, hands down. I have been a lot of spectacular places, and the scenery here is some of the best!

The campground itself was 4 stars. The sites were well spread out from each other which was really nice. The bathrooms were also really far away, and in poor condition. Our nearest vault toilet didn’t even have a locking door because it was broken, and the other side was out of order.

One star for the drive getting to the campground. You will spend AT LEAST one hour driving about 20 miles on a washboard dirt road. Our car is not 4WD and handled it fine, but it was such a long stretch and so uncomfortable. I want to come back here for the scenery SO BAD, but the road, and how long you have to drive on that road, might keep me away forever.
