This small campground is first‑come, first‑served, and we were surprised to find it nearly full on a Monday. Fortunately, we were able to snag a spot. We stayed in Site 4, a pull‑through that was fairly narrow, so it took a bit of maneuvering to position our steps and slide‑outs comfortably.
There’s no camp host on site, though we did see Forest Service staff stopping by. There’s also no trash disposal or water available, and we noticed trash left in our fire ring. Otherwise, the campground and bathrooms were generally clean. Fremont Campground is close by, easier to access, and offers both water and trash receptacles if those amenities are important to you. That campground was also busy.
The road down to the campground is bumpy, narrow, and somewhat steep, but clearly manageable—there were plenty of RVs there. The campers we met were very friendly, and the lake is just a short walk away. The beach area is spacious and perfect for canoeing or paddleboarding, and there’s a boat launch farther down the road.
Overall, it’s a beautiful spot, but because it’s FCFS with smaller sites and no water or trash services, we’d likely choose a different campground next time. Still, it’s a lovely place and worth a visit if those limitations don’t bother you.
