Silver Lake Campground (WY)

This walk-in tent site is the furthest from the parking, but the trade off is more privacy! The downfall is the parking area for the walk-in sites is not large enough at all to accommodate all the campsites. During our stay one campsite had at least four vehicles, and another campsite two vehicles. I ended up being double parked sometime after dark and had to do some very creative driving to get my car out in the early morning hours to be able to leave for a hike. There is overflow parking available for extra vehicles or late arrivals. Just something to keep in mind if showing up with more than one vehicle (don't be rude and double park others) or if unable to walk a distance.

Campsites are good. Our site was mostly level, although not all sites were. The bathrooms are older but well taken care of, and the camp host I met was very friendly. Other campers were fairly respectful about noise. The lake is beautiful and bigger than I thought, definitely worth a walk down to the shore.

We enjoyed our stay here. The vault toilet buildings were cleaned and maintained. Silver Lake was beautiful, and we enjoyed going down there to fish. Great place to camp in the Snowy Range.

Beautiful and well managed campground. Very quiet and peaceful campground which we enjoyed.

Not only is this a gorgeous campground, it was very quiet. The other campers were quite respectful, due in part I'm sure to the great hosts.
